Torchwood!

 

I tried watching a few episodes here and there when Jaime was still at his place. They had the BBC channels. It was interesting and I wanted to love it but I just never did get into it.

 

Lately, there has been much talk on the interwebz about this show. I was on my daily gossip site when someone posted the Sunday schedule to Comic Con and Torchwood was listed.

 

That’s when all the comments popped up.

 

Apparently the fans of the show aren’t happy with the way season 3 ended. Certain characters died, certain characters changed their personality etc.

 

Overall, the fans are pissed. I read even more that the writers/creators of the show have gotten threats online from the fans.

 

WTF?!

 

People are actually scared that the Torchwood panel at Comic Con is going to turn into some riot act. I’m tempted to go just to see the fans in action but then I realized,

 

This is why fandom can be a scary thing.

 

When I was watching LOST, I was mad they killed off some of my favorite characters but I got over it. I moved on. I stopped watching because of the story lines. It felt during the start of season 3 they were running out of steam but not once did I spend my time sending nasty notes to the writters on twitter/their blogs.

 

I forget how some fans can get so engrossed that it becomes their life, I guess. But really, sending threats is a bit too much. Even if they continue with a season 4, I doubt the actors and crew will return to Comic Con or do any more appearances for the fans. It’s sad actually.

 

This is why fandom can’t have nice things.

United States Post Office and Fed Ex… you are made of FAIL!!

 

The shopping service that helps me bid on item from Yahoo Auctions Japan did a shipment of items I won.

 

A dress for my Blythe doll, a Sailor Moon plushie, new Swimmer headphones and a Deadpool action figure.

 

The box was insured & sent priority mail but guess what?!

 

It was stolen!! The post office says it was delivered but not to me. I never signed for it. Jaime didn’t sign for it. Arturo didn’t sign for it. So my box of toys was stolen! I’ve been calling the Post Office non stop for the last week. I just need to know what happened to it. Did my dumb mailman leave it on the panel of the Apt mailboxes and one of my lovely building neighbors saw it and swiped or did someone go up to him claiming they knew me, signed it, and ran with it. I just need to know!!

 

The shipper filed a claim so I’ll be getting the insurance money but why would you leave something outside? Just because it’s in the building, it doesn’t mean its safe. It’s still out there for someone to grab.

 

The manager of the office called me back finally on Monday. I explained to him what happened and he said he’d call me back the next day after he talked to my mail guy. It’s Wednesday and no phone call. I tried calling and got no answer. Shocker!

 

And then there is Fed EX.  Fed EX ground has no pick up location in the city. I have to go to Sacramento to pick it up. Gee thanks! Amazon had a one day deal for Guitar Hero World Tour bundle pack. I bought it and got free shipping. Amazon has always shipped to me UPS. They have a pick up location so I wasn’t worried.

 

They shipped it out Fed Ex. Crap!

 

The delivery was for Tuesday the 7^th but they showed up on the 3^rd. It was my day off from work and since I wasn’t expecting a delivery, I was passed out. I called on Saturday to get them to change the address. I’m not home during “business hours” and we have no buzzer for the building. After 4 customer reps, I get a nice guy who changes the address to Jaime’s job. Sweet!!

 

Monday came and went. No delivery. Turns out my package is Fed Ex Ground Home Delivery and they are closed Monday. I will get it on Tuesday. Tuesday came and went and the only activity was an “arrival scan” to South San Francisco. I called and they say Delivery Home is different from Delivery Business. It’s gotta go from one warehouse to another. You’ll get it on Wednesday.

 

Guess what today is?

The only activity today is an arrival scan to Sacramento at 5am. I called and they said, you won’t get it until Thursday. It takes two days to process an address change. WTF?!?! I was told it would be here on Tuesday and people keep pushing it back.

 

She gave me the excuse that because of the holiday and Ground Business is different from Ground Home so my package had to go from South SF ground home warehouse to Sacramento Ground Business warehouse.

 

I hate you both USPS and Fed Ex ground with a passion. You guys have been nothing but stress for me in the last 2 weeks.

 

I had a package left out in Jaime’s building once and the PO said because it wasn’t insured, the mailman could leave it there if he wanted. This package was insured and they left it in my building, out, for a neighbor to grab. Instead of helping me, I either get no answer or if I do, a promise of a call back.

 

Fed Ex, you guys are just a mess with people who have nothing but wrong answers.

 

I’m going to look into getting a PO box from somewhere. I can’t believe it has been reduced to me paying for a mail box because the PO can’t seem to take a box back and have me pick it up instead.

 

And sadly, if the company only I want to order from ships fed ex, I’m not going to do it. UPS is way better and they have a pick up. They’ve only screwed up once with my delivery. Fed Ex, it’s every freaking time.

 

So frustrated it’s not funny.

My 4^th of July weekend was filled with nothing but movies! We caught up on our netflix and actually saw a movie in the theatre. We did catch Transformers 2 but before that, I think we last saw UP because we had Lilli.

 

I first will say, if you haven’t seen UP yet, be ready for some water works. They was a sad movie. Pixar movies don’t make me cry but this one had me going a few times. It was a pretty film and I loved the story.

 

I guess I am human after all.

 

Can I complain about Transformers though? I just did not like it. I loved the first one. I had my doubts when I first heard they were making a live action one but I did end up liking it but I just did not enjoy the sequel.

 

Really? Arcee twins? Of course, I kept counting 3 bikes but they kept saying twins. She’s/them were the only female autobots (and my favorite character next to the Dinobots) and she/them got robbed in the end. And wheelie turned into a humping robot?

And the twins?! They were sometimes funny but for the most part annoyed me. I was hyped about the constructicons (sp) but once they were formed I’m like “Wait? Unicorn?” I normally at least enjoy Michael Bay films for the blowing up scenes but I got nothing out of this one.

 

I did enjoy Sam’s parents though. They had some funny scenes. I’m glad they got more screen time in the sequel.

 

I shed a tear for Prime. Lilli did as well. She gets sad when we watch the animated movie and he dies.

 

Can we get some Dinobots in the next film?!!?? That’s all I ask.

 

On the netflix block, we had Casino Royal, The Illusionist, Lady of Vengeances, and Fighting for Love.

 

Lady and Fighting were both foreign films, Korean and Chinese.

 

Lady of Vengeances was a beautifully done film. It’s the third film from the Revenge series by Korean director Chan-wook Park. The lead character ends up in jail for a murder she didn’t commit and after 13 years, is released and hunts down the person.

The ending had me O.O!!!

 

Fighting for Love was a Chinese film with Jaime’s favorite actress. Pretty much the two leads characters met after she hits the guy’s car. They get drunk, have a one night stand, and the next day she loses her job, money, and her dad’s doggie. She ends up moving in with the guy but he has a girlfriend. It’s pretty much but I didn’t pay attention to it.

 

Casino Royale was kinda boring for me. It was more a casino film then a Bond film. I did love the sequel though.

 

Same with the Illusionist. That film didn’t hold my attention as much either. I’m not sure why. But the ending was really good.

 

Next from netflix is Heathers, which I have never seen. Shocking, I know! That film is so my alley. Also, skinwalkers. I saw the ads for this “horror” film but either it never made it to SF or it came and went quick.

I just watched the first episode of Weeds during my lunch. Yay for instant viewing on netflix.

I don't have showtime so I haven't caught the show but I have heard really good reviews about it.

I love it already! I can't wait to get home and watch some more.

If you don't know what Weeds is about, the basic premise is a suburban housewife make extra cash by selling to

support her kids after her husband drops dead from a heart attack.

The writing is great. I kept laughing out loud like a loony!!

Ahh, another show to add to my list. I'm still working on CHUCK.

Still need to catch up on HEROES.

I bought the game a week ago and have been playing it everyday!! Jaime is fishing for me right now. LMAO!! He would make fun of me when I needed to get on and play. We visited Spooky's town and her place was awesome insane! He's been online, getting me info about all the different things. I took a dinner break and he's been playing.

Now if I can get him to make his own character....
